Why a Leica M9

For me, using the Leica M9, ​​is a return to basics: take a picture as simple as possible.

No complicated settings to screen, just frame your subject and shoot.

If the subject is more than 10 meters away, nothing to worry about when you have choosen the aperture. The camera will do the rest !

The ergonomy of the camera is so good that you can take photos at a 15th of a second without moving.

My today equipment

For a long time I used to travelling with an heavy equipment, camera and lenses. They were very good, but I did not find it so interesting anymore to have such wheight on my shoulder and around the neck. The Nikon equipment (camera and lenses) was between 5 and 6 kilos. Today, with the M9 and lenses, it's about 1,3 kilos !

Then I discovered this camera

I would not change and come back to my previous camera, even if it can be considered as very good (Nikon D700). So light, such good quality and so simple. I walk in a street or anywhere, i do not feel the camera's weight, and it's always ready for a picture.

With some very good lenses, you can take sharp and impressing pictures. But I know that photography is firstly a question of personnal feeling and impression. Therefore, my opinion might not be yours !
